The debut album by Scottish indie-pop favorites The Vaselines — the 10-song Dum-Dum, originally released in 1989 shortly before the band split for the first time — will be reissued on clear heavyweight 180-gram vinyl next month for Record Store Day in the U.K. Full details right here.

This week’s episode of the Chicago-based syndicated radio show ‘Sound Opinions’ features an interview with and performance by the reunited Scottish indie-pop outfit The Vaselines, which the show’s producers are teasing with video of three live-in-the-studio performances.

This week’s new CD releases include new albums from Lloyd Cole (‘Broken Record,’ his first full-band effort in a decade), The Vaselines (‘Sex With an X,’ their first album in 21 years), Nick Cave’s Grinderman side project (‘Grinderman 2’) and James (the 2CD ‘The Morning After the Night Before’).

Reunited Scottish indie-pop faves The Vaselines today announced they’ll release a new album called ‘Sex With An X’ — only their second ever, the follow-up to 1989’s ‘Dum-Dum’ — in September, and are previewing it with a free download of the track ‘I Hate the ’80s.’ Plus, they’ll mount a 10-date tour of the U.K. this fall.
