Cold Waves will return to Chicago later this month for its eighth installment, and this year a number of the bands on the bill are touring — together and apart — in the weeks leading up to the Sept. 19 to 22 industrial-music festival at the Metro. Full details right here.

The long-in-the-works documentary about the rise and fall of Chicago’s Wax Trax! Records retail shop and record label — home to Ministry, Revolting Cocks, Front 242 and more — will premiere with two special test screenings and panel discussions on April 1 in the Windy City.
Singer Chris Connelly and bassist/programmer Paul Barker — who played together in Ministry, Revolting Cocks, Pigface and various other Wax Trax! Records industrial-rock supergroups in the late ’80s and early ’90s — are writing and recording new music together as Bells Into Machines.
This week’s episode of the ‘Sound Opinions’ radio show — billed as ‘the world’s only rock ‘n’ roll talk show’ — will look back at the legacy of Wax Trax! Records and will feature an interview with former Revolting Cocks and Ministry members Chris Connelly and Paul Barker.
