Primal Scream this May will release a live DVD and Blu-ray capturing its first full-album performance of its classic 1991 record ‘Screamadelica’ — a concert staged last Nov. 26 in London, which has now kicked off months of touring behind the reissue.

This week’s new releases include brand-new albums from Dinosaur Jr’s J Mascis and Eleventh Dream Day, plus the Pet Shop Boys’ ballet score, Black Francis’ silent-film score, the monster reissue of Primal Scream’s ‘Screamadelica’ and a new edition of Nick Lowe’s ‘Labour of Lust.’

Billed as its ‘only European show of 2011,’ organizers of the U.K.’s Bestival this morning announced The Cure will headline one of the festival’s four nights next September alongside Crystal Castles, the Beach Boys’ Brian Wilson, DJ Shadow and Primal Scream performing its 1991 album ‘Screamadelica.’

Last night, Primal Scream performed the first of two London gigs dedicated to the band’s seminal 1991 house-rock hybrid ‘Screamadelica,’ which will be commemorated in 2011 with a massive 20th anniversary box set and tours early next year of Australia and the group’s native U.K.

Primal Scream will perform its 1991 classic Screamadelica— the album that saw the band shed its C86 indie-pop sound in favor of house-influenced, druggy dance-rock — in its entirety for the first time ever Nov. 27 at London’s Olympia.

Peter Hook last night christened his new Manchester club FAC251 — housed in the former headquarters of Factory Records — with members of The Stone Roses and Happy Mondays helping perform a career-spanning set that included the live debuts of an unfinished Joy Division song and a New Order outtake.
