With the first two titles of The Jesus and Mary Chain’s 2CD/1DVD reissue series — 1985′s ‘Psychocandy’ and 1987′s ‘Darklands’ — now out, Demon Music Group today released the final two trailers for the project, previews of 1994′s ‘Stoned & Dethroned’ and 1998′s ‘Munki,’ which will be released Oct. 3.
This week’s new releases include the first two reissues from The Jesus and Mary Chain (‘Psychocandy,’ ‘Darklands’), a new album from The Waterboys (‘An Appointment with Mr. Yeats’), best-ofs from Throwing Muses (‘Anthology’) and 808 State (‘Blueprint’) and a 3CD/1DVD box set from Madness (‘A Guided Tour of Madness’).

A couple weeks ago, the Demon Music Group rolled out fancy 3-D previews of The Jesus and Mary Chain’s much-anticipated 2CD/1DVD reissues, and now the label has posted short trailers of the first two: 1985′s ‘Psychocandy’ and 1987′s ‘Darklands,’ which will be released Sept. 19.
With the first set of The Jesus and Mary Chain’s deluxe much-anticipated 2CD/1DVD reissues due to roll out in less than a month, the band — which recently staked its ground on Facebook and Twitter — is offering interactive 3-D previews, complete with audio samples, of each of its six albums.
The Jesus and Mary Chain’s six studio albums will be reissued this fall in expanded 2CD/1DVD packages that include B-sides, live sessions, TV appearances and rare material such as rejected early B-side ‘Jesus Fuck’ and a newly discovered recording of ‘Darklands’ with an added string section.
It’s not unusual, of course, for bands these days to set up on Twitter, but William Reid — one half of The Jesus and Mary Chain — wants to make it known that the seminal noise-pop group’s new @jamcofficial account is, well, official.
The Jesus and Mary Chain’s William Reid is 52 today, and to mark the occasion, we present this clip of Reid and his younger brother Jim bringing the noise on British television in 1985, performing ‘Just Like Honey’ and ‘Inside Me’ off of their debut ‘Psychocandy.’
With the 25th anniversary of the release of The Jesus and Mary Chain’s noise-pop masterpiece ‘Psychocandy’ approaching in November, band co-founder Jim Reid is leaving the door open to the possibility of preforming the record live in concert to mark the occasion.
