Rhino Records will follow up its 2010 Record Store Day limited-edition Factory Records sampler with a second 10-inch label sampler for this year’s event: a 4-track EP that will feature one song each from Joy Division, New Order, Happy Mondays and The Durutti Column, according to Wax Poetic.

Morrissey next month will reissue his 1988 debut ‘Viva Hate’ in a new edition remastered by original producer Stephen Street and featuring a tweaked tracklist and modified artwork — and he’ll follow that a month later with a 10-inch single released for Record Store Day featuring a previously announced remix of ‘Suedehead’ by Sparks.

The Cure is preparing a deluxe 20th anniversary reissue of ‘Wish’ for release sometime in 2012, as well as a new 7-inch of that album’s hit single ‘Friday I’m In Love’ to be released on Record Store Day next April to help raise funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

New Order delays release of ‘Lost Sirens’ outtakes set, will play Australia in 2012

New Order apparently has pushed back the release of ‘Lost Sirens’ — an eight-track CD/LP package featuring material left over from the recording sessions for 2005 swan song ‘Waiting for the Sirens’ Call’ — from mid-December until March 19, according to an updated listing posted by Amazon.co.uk.
