After teasing big news for the past few days, The Psychedelic Furs have announced they’ll at long last release their eighth studio album — the band’s first record in 29 years — this spring. The 12-track collection is preceded by the single “Don’t Believe,” which you can hear right now.
The Psychedelic Furs have become a regular fixture on the U.S. touring circuit in recent years, performing well-received greatest-hits sets from coast to coast. Despite initially billing their tour as ‘a very limited run of live shows,’ The Psychedelic Furs this week added an eight-date southern leg to their 30th anniversary ‘Talk Talk Talk’ tour of the U.S. this summer — effectively tripling the original size of the trek.
The Psychedelic Furs will celebrate the 30th anniversary of their sophomore album Talk Talk Talk by playing the record in its entirety at a ‘very limited run of live shows’ in the U.S. this spring — just eight concerts in California and Texas.
Turns out Echo & The Bunnymen won’t be the only ones doing the full-album thing this spring: The Psychedelic Furs are planning to bring their ‘Talk Talk Talk’ tour to the ‘western U.S.’ for a round of dates in April in May.
The Psychedelic Furs will follow their upcoming American tour by returning to the U.K. this fall for a short run of dates that will see the band performing its 1981 album ‘Talk Talk Talk’ in its entirety, plus ‘an encore set of some of their other classics.’
