The Primitives plan UK reunion tour in April

The Primitives

Following their under-the-radar re-emergence in October after 17 years of inactivity, ’80s British indie-pop outfit The Primitives have booked a 10-date reunion tour of the U.K. next April.

Still fronted by Tracy Tracy, the newly reunited band will open its short trek April 17 in Southampton and wrap it up on April 28 in London (see tour dates below). The tour follows a pair of October coming-out dates at the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum in Coventry and London’s Buffalo Bar.

Those concerts were the Primitives’ first since splitting in 1992 following the failure of their third album, Galore, and the band’s overall inability to replicate the success of their jangly 1988 hit single “Crash.” The reunion also comes in the wake of the death in February of Steve Dullaghan, the group’s first bassist, who played on 1988’s Lovely.

Here are a few video clips of the Primitives’ first reunion show in October.
