Playlist: Sirius XM’s ‘Dark Wave,’ 3/28/10

Sirius XM's 1st Wave

We may have missed last week’s “Dark Wave” on Sirius XM’s 1st Wave, but it seems some things never change: Opening the show with Public Image Ltd.’s “Rise”? Check. Hitting the rest of the weekly playlist staples (The Sisters of Mercy’s “Lucretia, My Reflection,” The Mission UK’s “Wasteland” and Siouxise and the Banshees’ “Slowdive”)? Check, check, check. At least tonight’s installment featured a couple album cuts from The Cure (“If Only Tonight We Could Sleep,” “Disintegration”) and a Depeche Mode rarity (“Death’s Door”) — but otherwise it was a fairly middle-of-the-road and somewhat repetitious playlist.

“Dark Wave” airs each Sunday from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Eastern/7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Pacific.

  1. nice to see the playlist posted.
are even half these songs considered “goth”? (Chameleons, Divinyls, Duran Duran) back when the Fred channel was on XM, all those songs were part of the regular playlist.

I sure miss Fred. I’ve found your website trying to find any 80s alternative stations to replace it.

  2. I was listening to this station non stop over the past weekend because the rent a car we had down in Nashville had a satellite radio. I love this station because it was almost like my iPod on shuffle.
