Playlist: Sirius XM’s ‘Dark Wave,’ 5/23/10

1st Wave

Well, we try to get these things posted Sunday nights, but we here at Slicing Up Eyeballs World HQ got a bit sidetracked by a late-night viewing of the “Lost” finale (and subsequent head-scratching). Not entirely sure this is complete, since we didn’t get to tune in except for part of the last hour, but here goes.

Highlights from last night’s “Dark Wave” on Sirius XM’s 1st Wave include an always-welcome Depeche Mode B-side (“Sea of Sin” off “World in My Eyes”), a dash of Swans (“Saved”) and — from the part we heard — a particularly great three-song run by Sinead O’Connor, Cocteau Twins and The Church (“Jerusalem”/”Ivo”/”Tantalized”).

“Dark Wave” airs each Sunday from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Eastern/7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Pacific.

  1. What’s up with the Puscifer week after week? Of all the artists still doing “darkwave” type music, why only Puscifer?

  2. I was a bit perplexed by Puscifer too, but at least it sorta fit in. I’m also confused by New Order “1963”, which I LOVE, but it’s not very “dark”. Oh and you forgot probably my favorite Camouflage song, “That Smiling Face”, which was played somewhere around Human League/Bauhaus/Cetu Javu.
