Reunited Vaselines mounting North American tour in support of Sub Pop reissue

The Vaselines

With an expanded Sub Pop career retrospective hitting stories Tuesday, the reunited late-’80s Scottish indie-pop outfit The Vaselines — who played their first-ever U.S. concerts just last year — are hitting the road for an eight-city North American trek this month.

The forthcoming 2CD/3LP Enter the Vaselines is an expanded reissue of the 1992 Sub Pop comp The Way of the Vaselines, and features the band’s two EPs (Son of a Gun and Dying for It) and only full album (Dum-Dum), plus a second disc of demos, unreleased tracks and live cuts recorded in the U.K. 1986 and 1988.

The reactivated band — featuring founders Eugene Kelly and Frances McKee — this month will play four West Coast dates, followed by shows in Toronto, Chicago and New York, before heading to Spain for a previously announced slot at the Primavera Sound Festival in Barcelona on May 28.

May 10: El Rey Theater, Los Angeles, CA
May 11: Bimbos, San Francisco, CA
