Crowded House releasing ‘Intriguer’ in June; 28-date North American tour to follow

Crowded House

The second post-reunion album from Crowded House — dubbed Intriguer — will be released this June under the band’s new deal with Universal Music, and will be followed by a lengthy, 28-date tour of North America beginning in July.

An exact release date has not yet been announced for the 10-track album, which originally had been expected in March. The reunited band — original members Neil Finn and Nick Seymour, plus Mark Hart and Matt Sherrod — recorded the album at Roundhead Studios in Auckland, New Zealand; it’s co-produced by Finn and Jim Scott.

Intriguer will be Crowded House’s sixth overall and first since reuniting to record Time on Earth three years ago. Although the band hasn’t announced the tracklist, fan site Frenz.com recently revealed 11 song titles for the album, including the would-be title track, “The Intriguer,” which now reportedly won’t be included (see that list here).

Last weekend, the band debuted the album’s first single, “Saturday Sun,” by playing it live at Roundhead for a New Zealand TV outlet; that clip is posted after the jump.

As for touring, Crowded House has a pair of dates lined up in Australia and New Zealand over the next week, and is then set to embark on a previously announced 18-date tour of the U.K. and Ireland, including a slot at the Isle of Wight Festival, plus play another seven shows across Europe. This week the band also unveiled a 28-date summer North American tour, set to begin July 12 in Toronto and wrap up Sept. 5 in Chicago.

  1. I love how the Scottish dates are not listed as UK. Where do you think Scotland is?

  2. That’s Celts for you!! Mel Gibson and blue face paint has a lot to answer for…

  3. Oh, and Saturday Sun is an excellent new track! So looking forward to the new album.

The scottish dates were marked separate from the rest of the UK because they had some individual pre-sale links on the original email that arrived in Australia.
The pre sale links were removed and what you have above was what remained.

They were rushed out so the Frenz Com community could receive them asap: zilch to do with old Mel and bum baring hairy scottish men *GRIN*
