Stream: R.E.M.’s ‘It Happened Today,’ featuring Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder

R.E.M., 'It Happened Today'

Just days after R.E.M. started giving away MP3s of the opening track to 2011’s Collapse Into Now, a second song — “It Happened Today,” featuring Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder on backing vocals — from the album has hit the web after it apparently was released as a single digitally in other parts of the world. As our friends at Consequence of Sound point out, De Ozonlaag is streaming the whole song, which you can hear via their player embedded below. The full album is out March 8 in the U.S. via Warner Bros.

  1. This song is even worse than ‘Discoverer’, lol. Where is Eddie on this, I can’t even here him?

Collapse into Now is sounding like a disaster for REM.

  2. tom,
    you´re an idiot.

it’s true, lol, I only hear eddy at the very end…that doesn’t really count as a collaboration ;) (think more like “kid fears” with stipe & indigo girls)
