Erasure announces new album ‘Tomorrow’s World,’ sets 25-date North American tour

Erasure

After months of teasing their in-progress new album, synthpop duo Erasure today finally announced the completion of Tomorrow’s World, the group’s first new record in four years, which will arrive this fall on Mute Records and be accompanied by a 25-date North American tour.

The album, which doesn’t have an exact release date yet, is produced by UK dance maestro Frankmusik, who has remixed the likes of Lady Gaga and the Pet Shop Boys. It was recorded between January and June of this year, with Vince Clarke “using his vintage collection of analog synths for the final touch.” All of the record’s songs are written by Clarke and vocalist Andy Bell, according to today’s announcement.

Currently on tour in Europe and with a nine-date Latin America tour set for August, Erasure is set to open its North American trek Aug. 31 in Tampa, Fla., and continues through September, ending Oct. 6 in Seattle, with two-night stands along the way in Washington, D.C., New York City and Chicago. The band makes a lone foray into Canada, with a Toronto date set for Sept. 11 (see full dates below).

The band will begin ticket presales for the North American shows on Wednesday, and says that anyone who preorders the record through the ticket presales “will get exclusive early access to tracks from Tomorrow’s World before the tour starts.”
