Playlist: Sirius XM’s ‘Dark Wave,’ 8/7/11 — guest-hosted by Slicing Up Eyeballs

When we started posting the weekly playlists from “Dark Wave” — the Sunday night “darker side of alternative” show on Sirius XM’s 1st Wave — a year-and-a-half ago, we never could have fathomed Slicing Up Eyeballs one day would be asked to guest-host the show. But that’s what happened tonight, after the folks at 1st Wave invited founder/editor Matt Sebastian to fill in for the mighty Swedish Egil.

So here’s the hand-picked playlist from tonight’s show, plus a big heaping “thank you” to all the fine folks at 1st Wave for giving us this opportunity and plugging the show this past week. “Dark Wave” airs every Sunday night from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Eastern/7 to 10 p.m. Pacific.

  1. Great job! Congratulations Matt.

  2. WOW- that’s a way more diverse playlist than if the Sirius program mgr picked it out for Egil (as usual)…Good job Matt!

  3. I’m actually listening to it right now – I’m up to The Lucy Show (a cool song by a group I missed out on entirely!) I had to take a sneak peek at the playlist though. Congrats on both receiving this cool opportunity and on doing a good job with it!

  4. Nice work Matt! A definite departure from the usual suspects on Sunday nights. Glad to see XM & Egil open to guest-DJ’s

  7. Best Dark Wave yet and I’ve listened to almost all of them over the last two years. Loved The Lucy Show and now I have to find a copy of …undone. Any chance you recorded your show last night and would be willing to re-stream it here? Would love to hear the show again.

  8. Awesome job Matt. There was alot of diversity with your playlist for Dark Wave. Here’s hoping you get another chance to host Dark Wave in the future
