Elvis Costello sets ‘2054 — The Centenary Show’ solo dates in California this fall

After spending much of his recent time on the road performing with his Spectacular Spinning Songbook, the seemingly tireless Elvis Costello is trying out a new live concept dubbed “2054 — The Centenary Show,” which will hit theaters and performing arts centers in six California cities this fall.

The show itself is a solo performance, but not much else is known. According to a news release, Costello offers the following possible explanations for the title:

“This show may contain any song I’ve written”

“Some you will know already, some are the hits of tomorrow”

“I’m playing this show now in the unlikely event that I’m not around to perform the songs on the appointed date”

“Don’t be late, we’re going to have a big time”

Right now, the trek is just six dates, but Costello promises more dates will be added.
