BACKSTORY: Scott McCaughey’s long-running Seattle garage-rock outfit returns this week with its 13th studio album and first since 2009’s I Think This Is, a 12-track effort that includes such songs as “So Many Electric Guitars,” “The Say Goodbye Center,” “Another Ten Reasons,” “Death of an Enbalmer” and much, much more.

RELEASE: Bug: Live at the 9:30 Club
BACKSTORY: J Mascis and Co. this week follow up last spring’s release of the DVD and Blu-ray “Bug Live at 9:30 Club: In the Hands of the Fans” with a super-limited, purple-vinyl pressing of that performance, recorded June 25, 2011, at the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C.  Check out an animated trailer for the record and download a free track here.

RELEASE: EP 3 / Aftermaths
BACKSTORY: Former Depeche Mode bandmates Vince Clarke and Martin L. Gore this week release, in the U.K., their third EP of mixes from a track off the duo’s album Ssss, which came out earlier this year. The new release features six different remixes of “Aftermaths” across the digital and vinyl releases, including one by Clarke himself.

  1. That Bug LP is the green vinyl, the purple one was a Outer Battery site exclusive that sold out crazy quick.
