Video: The Primitives, ‘Sunshine In My Rainy Day Mind’ — off ‘Echoes and Rhymes’ LP

The Primitives today released a third video for a track off this year’s “concept covers album” Echoes and Rhymes — the reunited indie-pop act’s first new collection in 11 years — this time for their cover of the obscure early-’70s single “Sunshine In My Rainy Day Mind” by the long-forgotten Polly Niles. Check it out in all its flower-powered glory.

  1. saw them in NYC a little over a year ago and they were awesome. tracey looked and sounded great! just wish they would have recorded an album of new material rather than covers. but regardless, it’s great to see them back!

  2. I was a massive Primitives fan in the late ’80’s, had the singles, the LPs, but in 2012, this is like watching your drunk nan at karaoke night down the bingo club. Sorry Trace, I still luv ya…but that’s the truth…
