Video: Astronaut Chris Hadfield covers David Bowie’s ‘Space Oddity’ in space

Chris Hadfield

Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield today handed over command of the International Space Station ahead of his planned return to Earth on Monday — and then sent a truly amazing farewell message in the form of a cover of David Bowie’s classic “Space Oddity” that he recorded on the space station. Check out the video, filmed aboard the ISS as well, below.

UPDATE 5/13/14: According to Chris Hadfield, the video is being taken down today because he only had permission to post it for a year.

very cool… surprised it’s taken this long for someone to do something like this.

  2. If I was David Bowie, on seeing this I would completely geek out, regardless of the fact that I was, in fact, David Bowie.
