    I love Dinosaur Jr.’s song…well, that’s hard.
    I’d say…In a Jar?

  2. Marcus Tsong

Little Fury Things, always. Followed closely by their cover of Just Like Heaven — and I love both because of the potent mix of anger and plaintive Eeyore-isms.

  3. in a jar…and i’m not sure why i enjoy it so much. it just brings up old memories i guess!

  4. Courtney Miller

    WAGON

  5. ‘Pond Song’, because it was the first time I’d ever layed ears on DJr…

  6. “The Wagon” is my all time fave! The first track from Green Mind sets the pace of the entire album. High School girls, underage drinking, skateboarding and Dinosaur Jr in the tape deck. Great early 90s memories!

  7. Katie Williams

In a Jar. anything off of you’re living all over me – reminds me of the early 90s and before they got in a fight.

  8. Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me

I love their cover of Mazzy Star’s “Fade Into You.”
Mazzy Star is on tour for the first time in 20 years and I am willing to fly all the way from Hawai’i to hear Dinosaur Jr. honor them live. Aloha :)

  9. John Tortorici

My favorite Dinosaur jr. song is definitely Freak Scene. It’s my favorite because it is so creative and it is also such a great and meaningful anthem for guitar-driven Indie rock in particular!!

  10. Brandon Futernick

It’s a tough call, but I’d have to go with “Sludgefeast” off of ‘You’re Living All Over Me.” Musically, its a perfect representation of each member’s strengths. Its heavy as hell and catchy, but skews the typical ‘verse/chorus/verse’ format while still staying grounded. Also, the lyrics hit home in a big way for me. Pretty much perfect, but same could be said for that whole album.

  11. Thumb

  12. Not You Again off Whatever’s Cool With Me. Gotta love a son with the line ” I’ve got no advice about anything just fuck it up yourself”

  13. Rene Murillo

Puke + Cry, although Who can forget their cover of Just Like Heaven from the Cure. :)

  14. This is extremely hard, but I’d probably pick Don’t Pretend You Didn’t Know, even though it very closely beats out Freak Scene and Watch the Corners. I love the covers, also. Very few bands cover songs ranging from The Cure to Miracle Legion.

  15. Don Reynolds

Favorite right now is Waiting off the new disc. I got the disc just before a major road trip last year from CT to NC and this song just blew me away and reminded me of why I loved the band so much in the early 90’s.

  16. Just the way Little Furry Things kicks off still blows me away. Chunks would be a close second fave.

  17. Thumb is hands down the best song, in my opinion. That song crushes me every time.

  18. My favorite Dinasour Jr. song has got to be Freak Scene.

  19. Freak Scene. The first Dino song I had ever heard and it blew my ears away.

  20. Bob Thompson

I like Start Choppin’ cause Lou doens’t play on it. Also there is at least one solo.

  21. Margie Brighton

    Freak Scene.

  22. Raisans. Its such an awesome, intense song.

  23. Toss up between Start Choppin’ or What Else is New.
The second half of the solo is easily one of my favorite solos ever.
I love the complete tempo shift in What Else is New and the use of timpani in it. Also, had a completely cheesy 90s alt video making eye contact with a girl 15 feet down the barrier while getting crushed at Lollapalooza when they played this.

  24. Keith Guerrero

Just Like Heaven is absolutely my favorite song. Old school 90’s beach parties just hanging out n loung’n. Good times, GREAT MEMORIES!!

  25. Freak Scene. that guitar riff blows me away

  26. Start Choppin

  27. The Wagon – reminds me of my college days :)

  28. Freakscene: Captured that time perfectly. Great all the way around.

  29. The Wagon <– that's how you start an album.

  30. Edward Baker

Freak Scene, which I saw them perform in 2009 at SXSW. I have been a die hard fan ever since. Please let me WINNNNNN. My girlfriend would cry of happiness if I took her.

  31. The Wagon !

  32. I really love “Pick Me Up”. Picture that: Croatia, me and a friend, on the road, windows down, sun and wind brushing the face, sea smell, J Mascis’ guitar solo filling the car at full blast… the joy to be alive! we were in Milan and we went to Dinosaur Jr’s concert in the hope that we could re-experience the same emotion, but they didn’t play the song.
I think, in some way, that Mascis owes me one….

  33. Jocelyn Curran

My favorite is Freak Scene because it totally epitomizes 90’s (well, 1988) Rock n’ Roll and it’s just a good old fashioned rock song with killer guitar riffs. Amazing stuff :)

  34. Jason Chappell

The Wagon. Reminds me of the early 90’s in the East Village when rent was affordable and life seemed so much easier. If i could afford these tickets now i would already have a pair. Cheers!

  35. Freak scene … it’s a great song

  36. Gotta love “Freak Scene”.

  37. Rachel Ravitsky

“Feel the Pain” is my favorite. It’s the first song I ever heard by Dinosaur, Jr. and that was on Beavis & Butthead, of all places! The uncorking to open the track, the first notes…it makes me think of a great time in music.

  38. Probably Puke+Cry, because it’s called Puke+Cry. I love Dino jr. because of how cheeky J. tends to be with how he describes crappy situations. He’s like, “Well, here’s a list of things that are bothering me, here’s a catchy chorus, and a ripping guitar solo. Have a nice day.”

  39. Quicksand! Reminds me of college.

  40. The Post. Why? The angst and honesty in J’s voice…that time in my young life…my little tragedies, my young love. These things crashed together in a song I will never forget.

  41. Feel the Pain! Cause it kills!

  42. Michelle Howard

“Goin’ Home” because I used to listen to it while, well, going home for visits during college.

  43. Roe Bianculli

Little Fury Things because it’s so damned great to sing along to. (Whether it’s “rabbit falls” or “I grab, it falls” as Lou Barlow claims is anyone’s guess…)

  44. My favorite song is I don’t think so. When that album came out, the woman I had been dating, who I thought was the love of my life, had just gotten on a plane for the west coast, from where she never returned.  The exquisite agony and sense of longing and loss in I Don’t Think So spoke directly to my pain and became a constant sonic backdrop to my sense of deep loss

  45. Haleigh westwood

    Little Furry Things!!

  46. Puke + Cry I love how ballsy the song is even with acoustic guitar and I mean come on it’s called Puke + Cry.

  47. Joleen Westerdale

    wagon.

    get on in.

  48. Start Choppin, great song, greatest guitar solo ever.

  49. Freak Scene. Or any other one where J.’s guitar crunches my spine into a ball of RRRAAAWR! Oh, I guess that’s just about every Dino Jr. song. But still, Freak Scene.

  50. Has to be Freak Scene. Why? It transports me back to 1988.

  51. “Yeah we know” perfect in every parts of the song <3

  52. Freak scene… cuz my friend Lisa put it on a mix tape back in the day and it always reminds me of her. We especially liked the line, “sometimes, I don’t thrill you, sometimes I think I’ll kill you. Just don’t let me fuck up, will you? Cuz when I need a friend, it’s still you.” So profound in its way.

  53. Thank you all for entering and sharing your favorite songs. A winner has been selected and notified.

  54. Ahhh wish I had seen this earlier! Can’t wait for this show!
