The Jesus and Mary Chain announce ‘secret’ Dublin gig, promise ‘year of activity’ in 2015

The Jesus and Mary Chain

The Jesus and Mary Chain will play a special “low key” concert in Dublin on Thursday as the brothers Reid rehearse in the Irish capital for their upcoming tour dates — including their November U.K. concerts that will see full performances of the band’s 1985 debut Psychocandy.

According to a post on the band’s official site announcing the “secret” gig at Dublin’s Vicar Street, those Psychocandy dates are just the beginning: “2015 will see a year of activity for the 30th anniversary of Psychocandy. More news soon.”

Following the Dublin date, the Mary Chain is set to perform Saturday at the Off Festival in Poland. Another festival appearance is scheduled for November, in Paris, ahead of the U.K. run

    Dear Jim and William,

If you’re reading this, please come back to Indianapolis. I didn’t know you played here the last time ’til a week after the fact.

    Grr. Argh.

Wow, Psychocandy turns 30 next year?! Such a great album. I wonder if they are gonna release a super deluxe anniversary edition sorta similiar to the deluxe editions of The Velvet Underground and Nico and White Light White Heat? Not sure what they have left in the vaults to release though.
