BACKSTORY: Seven years after Bob Geldof reunited with The Boomtown Rats for the first time since their 1986 split, the group this week releases its first album since 1984, a new 10-song collection called Citizens of Boomtown.

Tears For Fears

RELEASE: Songs From the Big Chair
BACKSTORY: The classic 1985 album from Tears For Fears this week is reissued on vinyl as a special picture disc. Features the hit singles “Everybody Wants to Rule the World,” “Mother’s Talk,” “Shout” and “Head over Heels.”

RELEASE: Octopus: Special Edition
BACKSTORY: The synthpop group’s 1995 album is reissued in a 2CD expanded set (and as a single LP) for its 25th anniversary that includes a collection of demos, singles and edits with seven previously unreleased tracks.

T.S.O.L.

RELEASE: Beneath the Shadows
BACKSTORY: Originally released in 1982, the second studio album by True Sounds of Liberty, aka T.S.O.L., is reissued this week on vinyl with the original artwork “painstakingly restored and hot-stamped with gold foiling.”
