Got a request? To be considered for next week’s show, drop it in the comments below by noon Tuesday. Requests will be considered as long as they fit the show’s format and generally within the 1stWave era — and provided the host doesn’t harbor an intense dislike of the song.

  1. Can you PLEASE dig up “The Cardinal Sin” by Dead Can Dance for next Sunday’s show? Thanx!

  2. Solid show. Hard to pick a best hour, but great choices from The The, The Only Ones, and Cranes especially. Also really liked the mini-shoegaze set.

For an upcoming show would like to request some Human Sexual Response. Maybe “Dolls” or “Guardian Angel”.

Thanks and have a great week.

  3. Could you play some Gary Numan next week? Any song is fine.
    Really great show tonight, Matt!

  4. Great work as always! I’ve always loved that Catherine Wheel song with Tanya Donelly. I’ll always campaign for more shoegaze, so for next week perhaps something from the genre-hopping Lilys in their early days? I’m thinking “Claire Hates Me” or “There’s No Such Thing As Black Orchids” from their 1992 album In The Presence Of Nothing. Thanks so much!

  5. Stabbing Westward – Crushing Me

  6. Silvia buzzanco

Can you play I feel You by Depeche Mode or Friday by Suzie and the Bantchie’s?

  7. Great set as always! Do you think you can play
Where Is My Mind by Pixies
Monitor by Siouxsie and the Banshees
Wax and Wane by Cocteau Twins
    Thank you!

  8. Can I hear Assassin by The Rose Of Avalanche Please thanks for playing Winter Kills By Yazoo/Yaz a couple of weeks ago loved the show lat night one off my favs that was played was that deeper cut by The Cure a very dark song that I haven’t heard in a while.

  9. Haunted when the minutes drag

Judy’s staring at the sun. Wow. Haven’t heard that in a long time. Reminds of the first girl I ever loved.

    “She’s suffering …”

  10. Thank you for another great show Matt!!!! I so appreciate you playing requests.

Some possible selections for best time:

    PWEI – Wise up! Sucker
The Jesus and Mary Chain – Here Comes Alice
    Joy Division – Atmosphere

    Thanks as always!

  11. I don’t think anyone can fully fathom how awesome it is to hear Spacemen 3 booming out of the speakers. Much obliged, muchacho.

  12. What a stellar episode last night, Matt! Hour two in particular really hit the sweet spot for me. If you have time in an upcoming episode, can you play one of these?

    The Glove – Orgy
    Pink Industry – The Corpse
Red Lorry Yellow Lorry – Hollow Eyes

Thank you for always keeping it dark!

  13. I got my fix from this week’s episode.

    This week’s Darkness Award:
    Ministry, “Just One Fix”

    “Never trust a junkie”

  14. That Cranes song I havent heard in years! Lovely.

As we’re all deep in winter, any chance of the fantastic Wintersun from Brendan Perry’s first album?

or Brendan voicing some gentle dnb on Devil and the Deep Blue Sea from the same?

  15. I could say so much about The Sugarcubes. I was in the right place at the right time. I met all of them (with a Sugarcube baby in tow). Their show was so great and Einar absolutely stole the show.
Rest In Peace the GREAT Mark E Smith! And long live Dark Wave.

  16. I’d like to request “The Blood” by the Cure please Matt

Please and thank you as always.

  19. I love the show, always the best part of the week!
Sunday will be the first time I’ve seen my boyfriend in 2 weeks, as he has been out of the country (without a cell phone too!). He’s back home Sunday and I know he would love to hear:
    Skinny Puppy- Smothered Hope

If you can swing it in the first hour before jetlag puts him to sleep, that would be amazing!
