Rhino Records continues its series of expanded deluxe-edition reissues of the Ramones’ catalog with the arrival this fall of a 3CD/1LP edition of the punk pioneers’ fourth album, Road to Ruin, that will include two different mixes of the record, unreleased rough mixes and a full live concert. The self-titled debut album from The Lords of the New Church — the fabled post-punk act featuring Stiv Bators of the Dead Boys and The Damned’s Brian James — will be reissued this summer in a new expanded edition featuring bonus B-sides and a live album recorded in New York in 1982. At long last — eight years, to be exact — Robert Smith is resuming the deluxe reissues of albums by The Cure, beginning with an expanded 3-disc edition of the 1990 remix collection Mixed Up that’s due out in June, to be followed, he says, by the long-awaited reissue of 1992’s Wish. Seminal post-punk act Wire will reissue its first three albums — 1977’s Pink Flag, 1978’s Chairs Missing and 1979’s 154 — in May with each remastered album packaged in a special book and featuring one or more bonus discs filled with studio demos and previously unreleased material. The full list of this year’s Record Store Day releases is expected to be revealed on Tuesday, but sharp-eyed fans of The Cure have spotted evidence that this year’s titles will include a vinyl reissue of 1990 remix album Mixed Up and something called Torn Down: Mixed Up Extras 2018. 4AD this March continues its Cocteau Twins reissue series with new repressings of the dream-pop masters’ second and third albums — 1983’s Head Over Heels and 1984’s Treasure — on 180-gram heavyweight vinyl and in “digital HD audio” versions for the download enthusiasts out there.

Proclaiming 2018 “the year of Lawrence,” Cherry Red Records next February will reissue the first five studio albums by Felt — originally released between 1982 and 1986 — and release a new record by the indie-pop outfit’s single-named mastermind with his band Go-Kart Mozart. INXS will celebrate the 30th anniversary of its world-conquering 1987 album Kick with a new expanded reissue that “extends” the previous 25th anniversary reissue with a half-dozen or so more remixes and alternate versions, plus a new Dolby Atmos mix of the album by Giles Martin.

The audiophile reissue of XTC’s fourth album, 1980’s Black Sea, is due out Nov. 10, and will include new 5.1 Surround, stereo and and high-resolution stereo mixes of the record by Porcupine Tree frontman Steven Wilson, plus demos, instrumentals and music videos. More details here.
