Morrissey preps ‘Viva Hate’ reissue, Record Store Day 10-inch — adds SE Asia concerts

Morrissey next month will reissue his 1988 debut ‘Viva Hate’ in a new edition remastered by original producer Stephen Street and featuring a tweaked tracklist and modified artwork — and he’ll follow that a month later with a 10-inch single released for Record Store Day featuring a previously announced remix of ‘Suedehead’ by Sparks.

In a rare interview on British radio this week, Morrissey revealed that he’s in the process of editing a 660-page draft of his memoir, dismissed the idea of retirement by saying he’ll ‘die on stage’ and once again shot down any notion of a Smiths reunion (‘There really is no point at all’).

Morrissey in April will release a new greatest-hits collection — the 18-track ‘The Very Best of Morrissey’ — featuring an unreleased, Siouxsie-less version of ‘Interlude,’ and will precede the set with a single backed by two unreleased ‘Viva Hate’ outtakes.
