Revolting Cocks 2009

Ministry’s Al Jourgensen this week announced his spin-off band Revolting Cocks will mount its first headlining tour in two decades this fall — although that’s really just in name only, since Jourgensen’s no longer even in the band, which is comprised of all new touring members.

Formed in 1983, Jourgensen’s RevCo long as been a sort of industrial supergroup, featuring, at various times, Chris Connelly, Ministry’s Paul Barker and Bill Rieflin and Front 242’s Richard 23. The group sputtered out in the early ’90s, but Jourgensen reactivated it in 2004; two years later, he enlisted an all-new touring lineup to open for Ministry’s MasterBaTour.

While Jourgensen, who recently retired Ministry, is no longer playing in RevCo, that new lineup — vocalist Josh Bradford (Stayte), keyboardist Clayton Worbeck (Stayte) and guitarist Sin Quirin (latter-era Ministry) — recorded this year’s Jourgensen-produced Sex-O Olympic-O (A 10-track remix album, Sex-O MiXXX-O, is due out Sept. 29.)

In September, the trio, augmented by a couple of extra musicians, is heading out on the 39-date LuBriCaTour, which opens and closes in Texas, and will feature support from Blownload, Left Spine Down and “ringmaster” Jim Rose. Jourgensen himself also will perform at four of the dates: opening night in El Paso, Los Angeles, Chicago and New York City.
