Coachella lineup: Public Image Ltd., Echo & The Bunnymen, The Specials, Faith No More

Coachella 2010

The lineup for this year’s Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival finally was unveiled today, and, as usual, there are a number of reformed ’80s college rock staples on the bill, including Public Image Ltd., Echo & The Bunnymen, The Specials, Faith No More, Devo and Gary Numan.

The April 16-18 festival, held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, Calif., will be headlined by Jay-Z, Muse and Gorillaz, and also will include sets by LCD Soundsystem, Them Crooked Vultures, Sly and the Family Stone, Radiohead’s Thom Yorke, Spoon and the reunited Pavement.

Barring any warm-up shows, Coachella will mark the U.S. debut of the current reunions of John Lydon’s PiL, which toured the UK in December for the first time in 17 years; The Specials, which toured (sans Jerry Dammers) for the first time 1981 last year; and Faith No More, which played European festivals last summer for the first time since breaking up in 1998.

Three-day passes, priced at $269, go on sale Friday. Details here.

  1. Thanks for this!

Just the fact that the Specials will be participating might be a good clue that a US tour is possible!
