Jane’s Addiction announces 17-date ‘Theatre of the Escapists’ North American tour

Jane’s Addiction today announced it’ll head out onto the road early this year to support 2011’s The Great Escape Artist with its “Theatre of the Escapists” tour, an 17-date North American trek that will find the band — Perry Farrell,  Dave Navarro and Stephen Perkins, along with bassist Chris Chaney — playing theaters and small venues.

Following a Feb. 5 concert in Indianapolis, the tour of the East Coast and Midwest gets underway Feb. 22 in St. Louis, Mo., and runs through March 28, when the band plays Milwaukee, Wi. A pre-sale for the concerts is set for 10 a.m. EST Wednesday through JanesAddiction.com, with general on-sale for the concerts slated for Saturday, according to the band’s website.

Farrell says: “We chose to play as many of the great theaters that we could find because we wanted to immerse the audience in a unique experience unlike any they have ever seen at a rock show. Expect an orgy of musical and visual delights. We like orgies, and hope you do, too.”

Following the North American run, the band has two concerts scheduled in Brazil in April.
