Morrissey postpones concerts in Las Vegas, Phoenix ‘due to doctor’s orders’

Morrissey this evening announced the postponement of two more concerts on his troubled North American tour — shows in Las Vegas on Saturday and Phoenix on Sunday — “due to doctor’s orders” as he continues to undergo treatment for a bleeding ulcer and Barrett’s esophagus, according to his official Facebook page.

To date, the former Smiths frontman has canceled or postponed 11 concerts since falling ill Jan. 24 on his lengthy North American tour that already had been rescheduled since last fall, when he abruptly canceled the bulk of the dates to return to England to see his ailing mother. The trek is now scheduled to resume Feb. 12 in El Paso, Texas.

The statement released today:

Due to doctor’s orders, the upcoming engagements with MORRISSEY in Las Vegas on Sat Feb 9 and in Phoenix on Sun Feb 10 will need to be rescheduled. MORRISSEY is currently undergoing treatment for a bleeding ulcer and Barrett’s esophagus. These shows are in the process of being rescheduled immediately and all patrons are encouraged to hold on to their tickets as the new dates will be announced within the coming days. MORRISSEY thanks everyone concerned for their well wishes during this time and hopes for a speedy recovery. The tour will resume as scheduled in El Paso at Tricky Falls on Feb 12.
