Midge Ure to receive 2CD best-of ‘The Works,’ prepping live set from U.S. tour

Midge Ure, 'The Works'

Ultravox frontman and solo artist Midge Ure will be the subject of a new 2CD, 32-track best-of dubbed The Works this spring as he puts the finishing touches on a new live album that was recorded in Chicago earlier this year during his rare North American solo tour.

The new best-of is due out March 25 in the U.K. via Music Club Deluxe, and features album cuts, singles, live tracks and mixes, including “If I Was,” two versions of “Dear God” and a live version of Visage’s hit “Fade to Grey,” which Ure helped write and sang on while he was in that band.

See full tracklist below.

As for the live album, Ure recently posted a video update for fans in which he announced the project, to be called Midge Ure: Live in Chicago and sold via his website. The album was recorded Jan. 19 at the Mayne Stage in Chicago, although it’s not yet known what songs it will include or when it will be released.

“It’s great because it’s some of the same old songs, but with a slightly different take because it’s got different musicians playing,” Ure says in the video, which you can watch below.
