After nearly 30 years, a full-blown reunion of the Paisley Underground will take place this December in California as four of the scene’s key acts — headliners The Bangles, plus the newly reunited The Three O’ClockThe Dream Syndicate and Rain Parade — team up for at least two concerts in Los Angeles and San Francisco.

The concerts are set for Dec. 5 at San Francisco’s Fillmore and Dec. 6 at the Fonda Theater in Los Angeles, the latter of which is a benefit for Education Through Music. Tickets for the Los Angeles concert go on sale 10 a.m. Saturday and the San Francisco show follows at 10 a.m. Sunday.

The last two years have seen a wave of Paisley Underground reunions, with Steve Wynn getting The Dream Syndicate back together last year to celebrate the 30th anniversary of The Days of Wine and Roses, Rain Parade taking the stage earlier this year for a benefit gig, and The Three O’Clock reuniting for Coachella and a few other concerts. The Bangles, of course, have been back together since the late ’90s.

It’s not clear whether there will be more shows together; aside from The Bangles, who regularly tour, the other Paisley Underground acts have not performed extensively since reuniting.

  1. No Redd Kross? No Pandoras (maybe with Miley Cyrus singing)? Weak!

  2. Are you kidding? That’s an insane lineup!

  3. Add Seattle, please.

  4. Redd Kross is not a band typically associated with the Paisley Underground and with Paula dead I’m not sure how a Pandoras reunion would be possible. Maybe the Gwennedoras are still around though.

  5. Awesome line up….my heads kind of exploding.

SOOOOOOOOO glad it’s Vicki and Debbi in the picture, esp. Vicki. She and Michael always tied for my favorite members of the band.

There were four people in that band, and three of them WEREN’T Susanna.

  7. Oh, Susanna!

I’ve seen her rock the Bottom Of The Hill. Would be better if she was in on it, too.

It doesn’t say anything about her not being there with the Peterson sisters, Pete. I just remarked I’m glad the picture featured Vicki and Debbi as I favored them over her, Vicki in particular. Great guitarist!

Those two and Michael being treated like Susanna’s backing band led to the group’s downfall initially.

  8. I want to be there. I’d also like to know if Roback will be playing with the Parade. No Roback, no Parade.

  9. David Roback is on tour with Mazzy Star. He will not be at the show.

  10. Saw Rain Parade in Atl. Considering this as well, it was that good.
