Primal Scream sets 12-date North American tour, debuts ‘Goodbye Johnny’ video

Primal Scream

Following up a brief, four-date California tour last October, Bobby Gillespie will bring Primal Scream back to North America next spring for a dozen more just-announced concerts in the U.S. and Canada in support of the long-running band’s 10th studio album, More Light, which was released earlier this year.

The group — which currently finds Gillespie joined by Andrew Innes, Martin Duffy, Darrin Mooney, Barrie Cadogan and Simone Butler — opens the trek April 30 in Houston, hits the Psych Fest in Austin on May 2 and then plays eight more U.S. concerts before capping the tour off with shows in Montreal and Toronto in mid-May (see full dates below).

The David Holmes-produced More Light features guest appearances by Robert Plant, My Bloody Valentine’s Kevin Shields and Mark Stewart of The Pop Group. The band recently debuted the video for single “Goodbye Johnny,” which you can also see below.

  1. Chicago please!

  2. Yes, Chicago please. The new album is great!

  3. Atlanta got some love — alright!!!!!!!!!!

  4. If a band like this is announcing US dates that begin in late April but there aren’t any on the west coast, it just becomes a badly kept secret that they’re obviously going to play Coachella.

  5. Come to Chicago!
