Tears For Fears confirm handful of U.S. live performances in September

Tears For Fears

It’s not clear yet whether a full tour is brewing, but Tears For Fears — who have been at work on a follow-up to 2004’s Everybody Loves a Happy Ending — have confirmed five live dates in the U.S. next month, with shows booked in Texas, Oklahoma, California and Oregon.

The dates, listed on the band’s website, open Sept. 17 in Austin, Texas, and run through an appearance Sept. 27 at the Project Pabst festival in Portland, Ore. Tickets are now on sale for all of the shows.

Last year, while in the studio working on the new record, Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith release a trio of cover songs, offering up Tears For Fears takes on contemporary tracks by Arcade Fire, Hot Chip and Animal Collective.  In December, the group revealed, “And finally… we’d like to officially announce that we are writing and recording new original material to be released in 2014!”
