Love and Rockets adds Los Angeles concert to end of its 17-date reunion tour

Love and Rockets will now open and close — barring the addition of any more shows — their wildly anticipated U.S. reunion tour in the Los Angeles area, with the announcement today of a new concert on June 20 at the Theatre at Ace Hotel.

That new date falls exactly a month after the trio’s tour opener at the Cruel World festival in Pasadena. All told, the band — Daniel Ash, David J and Kevin Haskins — will now play 17 shows.

A Goldenvoice pre-sale for the new date at the Ace Hotel begins at 10 a.m. Pacific on Thursday, May 11 — password is MOTHER — with the general on-sale following at 10 a.m. Friday, May 12, via axs.com.

Love and Rockets last performed live in 2008 with a couple warmup shows and a trio of festival slots, including at Coachella and Lollapalooza. The band’s last album was 1998’s Lift, and its last tour followed that in 1999.

The trio have been in Los Angeles rehearsing for the tour, and this wee posted a photo to Instagram showing a set of guitar pedals and handwritten lyrics to “Haunted When the Minutes Drag.”

The band is in the midst of reissuing most of the trio’s albums on vinyl via a new Beggars Arkive campaign, which will include the release in June of My Dark Twin, a new two-disc set of outtakes from the sessions that led to 1996’s Sweet F.A.

  1. No New England date, any chance of adding one for Boston or Providence, RI?
