The Cure will return to the United States following the band’s just-underway amphitheater tour to join Foo Fighters, The Postal Service, Death Cab for Cutie and Queens of the Stone Age as headliners for the 2023 edition of Riot Fest in Chicago this September.
The 95-act bill, announced today, also includes Turnstile, The Mars Volta, Ride, Mr. Bungle, AFI, The Breeders, Kim Gordon, Ani DiFranco, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, The Exploited and, uh, Corey Feldman.

Tickets — $269.98 for three-day passes — for the Sept. 15-17 festival, at Chicago’s Douglass Park, went on sale as the lineup was announced at 10 a.m. CDT today; visit riotfest.org for more information and to purchase.
This follows the sell-out of an undisclosed number of $179.98 three-day passes during a presale on Monday night — help before any of the lineup had been revealed.
Riot Fest dates back to 2005 in Chicago, though its current incarnation as a multi-day outdoor festival wasn’t established until 2012. The event has since been instrumental in several major reunions, including Naked Raygun, The Misfits, Jawbreaker and, perhaps most famously, The Replacements.
The Cure last headlined Riot Fest in 2014, when the festival also was staged in Denver.
