Photos: Siouxsie dazzles Cruel World 2023 with first U.S. performance in 15 years

The threat of lightning that derailed the end of the Cruel World festival in Pasadena, California, on Saturday night wasn’t enough to keep the legendary Siouxsie from performing on these shores for the first time in 15 years, thanks to a hastily scheduled make-up show Sunday night.

We can now offer an up-close-and-personal look at this very rare Siouxsie live performance, thanks to the stellar work of concert photographer Jason Zinn, presented here.

Siouxsie’s 17-song set was fairly similar to what she’s been playing in Europe over the past few weeks, with a couple key surprises: “About to Happen,” off her solo album MantaRay, and not performed since 2008; and the Siouxsie and the Banshees classic “Israel,” which she last played in 2013.
