DETAILS: These very limited-edition, new 6CD and 7LP box sets collect all of the Julian Cope-led band’s singles and B-sides, plus four CDs/five LPs of unreleased studio outtakes, previously unreleased live material and more.

DETAILS: This 6CD boxset chronicles the output of the shoegaze favorites, collecting their albums, EPs, singles, remixes and demos — including 20 previously unreleased recordings. Comes in a hard slipcase box with mini-LP sleeves and a 64-page booklet.

RELEASE: Such Ferocious Beauty
DETAILS: The Canadian alt-folkies are back with a new studio album this week, a 10-song collection that is the group’s fourth album since ending a six-year break in recording in 2018. Features the lead-off single “What I Lost.”


Tommy Stinson’s Cowboys in the Campfire

RELEASE: Wronger
DETAILS: Tommy Stinson’s long-gestating project Cowboys in the Campfire — a duo with Chip Roberts born between Stinson’s stint in Guns N’ Roses and the reunions of The Replacements and Bash & Pop — releases its debut album this week.

RELEASE: Keeping Control: Independent Music From Manchester 1977-1981
DETAILS: This 3CD, 76-track box set from Cherry Red Records offers a comprehensive look at Manchester’s musical output in the late ’70s and early ’80s, including tracks by Joy Division, New Order, The Fall, A Certain Ratio, Magazine and more.


Lloyd Cole and the Commotions

RELEASE: Mainstream
DETAILS: Lloyd Cole’s third and final album with the Commotions, released in 1987, is reissued this week in a new 180-gram vinyl pressing with packaging replicating the original Polydor Records UK release. Features “My Bag,” “Jennifer She Said” and more.
