This is a round-up of the week’s new albums, expanded reissues and/or box sets, appearing each Monday on Slicing Up Eyeballs. All releases due out this coming Friday unless noted. May also include some other titles released in recent weeks but not previously featured.

RELEASE: Reveal, Accelerate
DETAILS: The R.E.M. vinyl reissue campaign continues this week with new 180-gram pressings of the band’s 2001 album Reveal and 2008 record Accelerate. Limited-edition colored pressings also were available through the band’s site.

Cindy Wilson

RELEASE: Realms
DETAILS: The B-52s singer this week releases her second solo LP — following 2017’s Change — that’s described as “an immersive, enchanting 10-track journey that peels back the layers of our common humanity.”

Sun’s Signature

RELEASE: Sun’s Signature: Extended Edition 
DETAILS: The debut EP from the new project featuring Cocteau Twins’ Elizabeth Fraser and her partner Damon Reece is reissued this week on marbled yellow vinyl and, for the first time, on CD, with a bonus disc featuring six remixes.

Catherine Wheel

RELEASE: Ferment, Chrome, Happy Days
DETAILS: The first three albums by the alt-rock/shoegaze favorites — first released in 1992, 1993 and 1995 — are reissued this week in 180-gram, double-vinyl pressings, each with bonus tracks appended to the original releases.

The Stone Roses

RELEASE: Sally Cinnamon 
DETAILS: The Roses’ 1987 single is reissued this week on 180-gram black and “extremely limited” blue vinyl, with the original single and its B-sides now accompanied by live versions of those tracks. Half-speed mastered.

The Ocean Blue

RELEASE: Davy Jones’ Locker
DETAILS: The indie-pop favorites’ self-released 1999 album is reissued this week on vinyl, CD and digital formats. Features the single “Denmark,” which has also just received a brand-new music video.

  3. There’s nothing misleading about this. I look forward to seeing my old favorites remastered or put on vinyl, or expanded, or whatever. A great source, for me at least. Keep up the great work Matt.

  4. Cindy Wilson’s music is phenomenal. I wish she hadn’t wasted her time and talent in the B-52s.
