THE CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED. WINNERS WILL BE NOTIFIED VIA EMAIL.
Music journalist Simon Price’s new 448-page “Curepedia: The A-Z of The Cure” — billed as a first-of-its-kind history of Robert Smith and Co. — will be published in the U.S. next month, and we’re thrilled to be able to give away free copies to 25(!) lucky Slicing Up Eyeballs readers.
The book, due out Dec. 12 and available for preorder, promises to be a “truly unique” biography of The Cure, chronicling the band’s 40-plus year history through hundreds of alphabetically arranged, encyclopedia-style entries. The book also features a foreword by the band Mogwai and original illustrations by artist and longtime Cure collaborator Andy Vella.
“‘Curepedia’ is a full-scale look at the long list of members, current and past, unknown facts, tours, descriptions of every album, song, films, as well as entries on the image of the band, their influence, their style and their enduring legacy,” the book’s publisher, HarperCollins imprint Dey Street Books, promises.
TO ENTER: In the comments section below this post (on this page), please list your five (5) favorite songs by The Cure. Use your real email address while commenting, because that’s how we’ll contact the winners. Entries must be made on this page, not on social media or sent via email.
RULES: All winners must have U.S. mailing addresses. (Sorry, publisher’s rules.) We’ll take entries until 5 p.m. EDT Monday, Nov. 27. After that point, we’ll randomly select 25 winners, who will be notified via their provided e-mail addresses. Important: If any of the selected winners don’t reply to their notification emails within 48 hours, new winners will be drawn in their place. One entry per person.
Good luck, and godspeed.
