RELEASE: Love and Fight
BACKSTORY: After reunited a few years ago, seminal San Francisco punk act Flipper returns this week with not one but two new releases: the band’s first studio album since 1993, Love; and Fight, a live album recorded in Portland and Seattle. Both feature original members Bruce Loose, Ted Falconi and Steve DePace, in addition to Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic (who has since departed and has been replaced by Rachel Thoele, formerly of Frightwig).

BACKSTORY: First new studio album since 1999 from the veteran British ska-pop act, released as the band celebrates its 30th anniversary.

ARTIST: Tom Tom Club
RELEASE: Tom Tom Club: Deluxe Edition
BACKSTORY: Expanded edition features remastered versions of the group’s self-titled 1981 debut album and the first-ever CD release of 1983’s Close to the Bone, plus nine bonus tracks.

ARTIST: The Lightning Seeds
RELEASE: Four Winds
BACKSTORY: Ian Broudie’s pop act issues its fourth studio album since forming in 1989
