Duran Duran to follow South American, European concerts with U.S. tour this August

After playing two rounds of U.S. dates last year in support of All You Need Is Now, the resurgent Duran Duran will return to American shores this August for another round of concerts, with at least a dozen shows scheduled so far — some of which are set for such off-the-beaten-path destinations as Catoosa, Okla., and Mashantucket, Conn.

The just-announced U.S. dates will follow the band’s six-date, late-April/early-May trip to South America and a still-expanding European tour. The American leg so far opens with Aug. 8 and 9 shows in Saratoga, Calif., and runs through an Aug. 29 appearance at the Ravina Festival in Highland Park, Ill. A number of the venues have yet to be announced.

Before that, though, Duran Duran — which currently is wrapping up an Australian trek — will play at least 13 concerts in Europe in June and July, hitting Poland, the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Serbia and more before wrapping up July 27 with a still-to-be-announced gig in London.

According to the band’s website, more shows are expected to be announced.

  • Mike C.

There. No stopping me. Concert selections this year have SUCKED.

  • Yeah I am so not going to be able to make it to see them this time around in the States. Already have a big vacation planned at the end of Aug and I’ll will be no where near to where they are playing. Even if I could make it, I hate the fact that the closest place to me is Atlantic City & I hate AC! So I guess I’ll be missing them this time around! Have fun to the peeps who will go! Maybe they will do a few more in Sept? Doubt it but a girl can wish!
