The Cure’s Robert Smith counts down Top 30 songs of the ’80s on Sirius XM

The Cure's Robert Smith

Last weekend’s “4 for The Cure Memorial Weekend” special on Sirius XM’s classic-alternative station 1st Wave featured an unannounced and unexpected bonus: Robert Smith counting down his Top 30 songs from the ’80s.

The two-hour show — featuring Smith intro’ing songs by everyone from My Bloody Valentine to Chaka Khan — is being repeated at 4 p.m. Eastern today and 8 p.m.  Eastern Sunday on 1st Wave (Sirius 22, XM 44), according to a post on The Cure’s official site.

For Cure fans who don’t have satellite radio, the kind folks at Chain of Flowers have transcribed and/or paraphrased most of Smith’s Top 30 intros, and also have download links for much of last weekend’s Cure special, including  Richard Blade’s interview with Smith and the Hollywood Bowl concert.
