Pixies’ ‘Where Is My Mind?’ tops WOXY’s 20th annual Modern Rock 500 countdown

WOXY 2009 Modern Rock 500

Online radio outlet WOXY’s 20th annual Modern Rock 500 wrapped up this week by crowning a new champion: the Pixies’ “Where Is My Mind?,” which claimed the top spot in the station’s week-long countdown.

The Surfer Rosa classic moved up from No. 6 on the 2008 list to beat out The Smiths’ “How Soon is Now?” and The Clash’s “London Calling” to top the station’s latest 500-song poll of modern-rock classics.

Last year’s winner, Radiohead’s “Creep,” fell to No. 12 on the 2009 list.

The Top 20 are listed below, and you can see WOXY’s entire list and stream the whole 2009 countdown right here.
