Video: U2 live at the Rose Bowl via YouTube

If you missed U2’s live YouTube webcast from the Rose Bowl on Sunday night, the band has kindly archived the whole 2-hour-and-20-minute concert — and is even allowing it to be embedded, as it is above. Not sure how long they’ll leave it up, especially considering it was filmed for DVD release.

Highlights: The return of “The Unforgettable Fire” and “Ultraviolet (Light My Way)” to the band’s setlist, great new songs like “No Line on the Horizon” and “Moment of Surrender,” the total lack of “Pride (In the Name of Love),” getting a glimpse of the sheer size and visual impact of the band’s gigantic stage.

Lowlights: That awful “remix” of the already awful “I’ll Go Crazy If I Don’t Go Crazy Tonight,” the fact that nothing was played off Pop or Zooropa, encoring with the needs-to-be-retired “With or Without You,” the absence of “Your Blue Room.”

  1. Decent concert, so-so set list. I caught the Phoenix concert 5 days prior to the Rose Bowl gig. More lowlights: nothing played from Boy or October (will they ever touch October again?). As much as I still like With Or W/O You, it’s lost its spark over the years in concert, so you may be right about retiring that one. The production was amazing, the band sounded tight, musically, meh, the new songs don’t translate well to the stage. Yes, that remix of an already bad song was horrendous! When the number started, we thought it was a lead-in to Discotheque. Shame it wasn’t. Keep up the awesome work on the site, I check in daily! 1002
