Punk powerhouse Social Distortion’s summer tour isn’t even underway yet and the L.A. rockers already are looking forward to fall, today announcing a 25-date North American tour in October and November with cowpunk act Lucero in support of the band’s forthcoming seventh album.
This past April, Mike Ness and Co. unveiled a run of club dates in July and August surrounding the band’s appearance at Lollapalooza in Chicago. Now, Social D is setting a larger theater tour beginning Oct. 14 in Salt Lake City and running through Nov. 23 in Tempe, Ariz. Frank Turner will join Lucero on the bill (see full dates below).
The tour announcement comes as the band nears the end of recording its follow-up to 2004’s Sex, Love and Rock ‘n’ Roll. The new, as-yet-untitled album is expected sometime this fall on Epitaph Records in conjunction with the U.S. tour.
