Video: Social Distortion stages 1930s bank heist in new ‘Machine Gun Blues’ film

The Social Distortion gang goes gangster in this new music video for “Machine Gun Blues,” the lead-off single for the band’s 2011 album Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes. In the seven-and-a-half-minute mini-movie, which premiered last night and is posted above, a tommy gun-toting Mike Ness and Co. act out a bloody 1930s heist, shooting up a bank lobby — women and all — before going on the lam and ultimately dying in a cliche-ridden hail of gunfire. Hard times, indeed.
