RELEASE: Bakesale: Deluxe Edition
BACKSTORY: Sub Pop this week reissues the classic 1994 album from former (and once again) Dinosaur Jr bassist Lou Barlow’s famously lo-fi spin-off project. The two-disc set features a remastered version of the original album plus a whopping 25 extra tracks, including B-sides, acoustic versions and demos. (See tracklist here.)

BACKSTORY: The synth pioneer this week releases in the U.K. an 18-song, 2CD live album and PAL Region 2 DVD — previously available for sale through his website — that were recorded in Manchester, England, on the night of his 50th birthday during the 2008 tour in support of his Replicas reissue. Also features “Cars,” “Everyday I Die” and “A Prayer for the Unborn.”

BACKSTORY: The New Wave singer-songwriter releases the sixth live album of his career, recorded during his 2010 European tour with two members of the original Joe Jackson Band (bassist Graham Maby and drummer Dave Houghton). Includes “Steppin’ Out,’ “Sunday Papers,” “Got the Time” and covers of The Beatles, David Bowie and Ian Dury.

  1. INXS…re-releasing albums as ‘remastered’ with no bonus material? What do you think your fans are, idiots? I for one am getting more and more disgusted at your money-grubbing recently. Form another band with another name and reinvent yourselves like Joy Division, Love & Rockets, Foo Fighters, etc.
