Video: Weezer’s cover of The Cars’ ‘You Might Think’ — from ‘Cars 2’ soundtrack

With the film opening Friday, Weezer today debuted a video for its (quite faithful) cover of The Cars’ 1984 hit “You Might Think,” which appears on the soundtrack to the Disney/Pixar soon-to-be-smash “Cars 2.” The video (via Rock It Out! Blog) is posted above, and mixes ‘toons from the movie with assorted on-stage and in-studio footage. Check it out.

  1. Given Weezer’s connection to The Cars, I’m surprised they haven’t covered them sooner. As someone who doesn’t hate everything the band did post-“Pinkerton” (you could make one album as enjoyable as the first two from the best material they’ve done since then), this was fun enough. I mean, who’s going to argue about The Cars?

    They care, and it shows.

  3. I love the Cars and never listen to Weezer but honestly the above video is 100% more interesting than watching these guys: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WbVGc2fSDTE (movie clips or not, speaking mostly of the energy portrayed in the band)

    Seriously, well done Weezer.
