Manchester survivors James have booked eight concerts across the western U.S. and Canada this April around the band’s dates at the two-weekend Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival — after which the group heads to Mexico and South America — and announced the long-delayed The Gathering Sound
Tim Booth and Co. open the short run April 7 in Vancouver, B.C., and hit Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, San Diego, Las Vegas and Tempe and Tucson, Ariz., around their two Coachella performances (see full dates below).
In a press statement, Booth says:
“We return to the land of milk and honey. In our gnarly battered tour bus we follow the path of the wagon trains. The West Coast calls. Sorry East Coast fans — economics… next time. Don’t miss us this time. You never know how much more of this we have in us.”
After Coachella, the band has dates planned in Mexico, Chile, Brazil and Argentina.
Finally, in announcing the U.S. dates, James’ reps says the band’s long-delayed, career-spanning box set — featuring three CDs, a DVD, a 12-inch record and 8GB of digital music — finally is set for release this spring.
