Credit for this week’s installment of Vintage Video goes to Cocteau Twins bassist Simon Raymonde, who came across this rare footage of his band on YouTube — a seemingly complete concert filmed Nov. 1, 1990, at London’s Town & Country Club during the Heaven or Las Vegas tour — and posted it on Facebook.
Raymonde writes, “I didn’t think any footage from the Heaven or Las Vegas tour in 1990 existed and I remember how cool it was being able to have a lighting designer for the first time that tour, but have never seen how our stage looked from the audience till tonight so this is a treat to me. … And my god, what a voice Elizabeth had on this tour, absolutely perfect on every song.”

YES!!!! I saw this tour in Seattle, w/ G500 opening. What an evening…. I truly wish they would get over whatever keeps them apart, and put out another album. Finish the album they left incomplete when they disbanded. Whatever. New Cocteaus, please!

My first Cocteau Twins show in 1990! Saw them in Dallas at the Metroplex Arena which was more like a high school gym, bleachers and all. It was a great show!
I got a like/hate thing with them. Nobody sounds like her but the lyrics are just gibberish. Different that is for sure.
