Ride’s Mark Gardener plots U.S., Australian dates to commemorate ‘Going Blank Again’

Former Ride frontman Mark Gardener has announced dates along the West Coast of the U.S. and in Australia that will find him playing material spanning his entire career — from Ride classics to solo material — while backed by Los Angeles’ Sky Parade, a series of dates meant to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Going Blank Again.

As we reported last month, the seminal British shoegazers — who were signed to Creation Records in the late ’80s — later this month will release an expanded reissue of their 1992 sophomore album that will packaged with the DVD debut of the 1992 VHS release “Going Blank Again: Live at Brixton Academy” featuring newly mixed and edited audio.

Now Gardener has booked shows in Seattle, Portland, San Francisco and Los Angeles in June and will play three cities — Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne — in Australia this August, with additional shows expected in Japan and Germany, according to his website.
